Clinique Wash Away Gel Cleanser

I have oily skin, and my Estee Lauder cleanser was running out. I was at my local Cosmetics Company Store and I figured, might as well try something new! This cleanser, unlike my Lauder, makes my skin literally feel clean afterward. It has that cool, tingly feeling, if you know what I mean. I do get the somewhat dry sensation a few minutes afterward, but that’s its job, to reduce the oil. I also bought the Acne Solutions moisturizer. It didn’t do anything serious for me, haven’t noticed anything spectacular about it. I have honestly been using 100% cocoa butter on my face, trying to clear up some of these acne scars.

Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment

There is much hype about this product, but I just don’t see it. Last year, I bought a jar of this $55 oil, hoping to get the same enriching results that other readers had. I heard that my hair would be ultra silky, super moisturized, stronger than ever, etc. I should have known that if caucasian women use it in their hair, it wasn’t going to work on my 4B strands. First off, it smells like incense, straight up 5 for $1 incense. Sephora’s site reads “For over 500 years, the tropical Ojon tree of Central America’s rainforest has been known only to the Miskito Indians, referred to as Tawira, or “the people of beautiful hair.” I guess that is the line that had me sold. My damn near $60 purchase taught me that Palm Nut Oil does nothing for my hair, at all. Half of the jar is still in my bathroom cabinet. I use it as a pre-poo, but I feel no difference. There is now a $21 jar that you can purchase, so if you must try it, get the small one.

L’Oreal HIP Collection

I’m not much of a drugstore beauty person, as you might know. But maybe all those bright colors just drew me to this collection. Finally, I’m noticing that these brands of makeup are starting to posess this high end quality. It’s so refreshing to see exciting makeup!!!
Here’s what I bought.

Vibrant Shimmer Bronzing Powder in Glowing- I really like these, and I will probably buy the other three for my kit. They all come in different variations of brown. The color is very even, sheer and easy to use. It isn’t a ton of glitter on your face, but gives you that glow. Very, very pretty.

Concentrated Shadow Duo in Sassy-I bought this duo for the frosty taupe color. It’s fabulous. Super frosty, gorgeous. The teal is nice as well. The color comes off very rich, you don’t have to dig and press and fight to make the color appear as it really is. I already have colors that resemble most of these shadows, but I might buy a few more for the heck of it.

Illuminating Highlighter-This isn’t an item needed for everyday, but it sure does set off a look. These highlighters are creamy and have the perfect amount of pigment to them, just enough that they don’t have to be blended down to hard. Highlighters are used to bring attention to an area, so I would use it around the frame of the eye (basically where you can feel the eye cavity).

Overall, I love HIP. Tons of color and great quality. The next things I’ll buy are the glosses and blush cremes. Go out and take a look at your local drugstore or Target, Wal-mart, etc.
